Group Home Services FAQ’s
What are strip packaged medications/PACMED?
PACMED is a machine utilized to package medication tablets/capsules into individual pouches. Unlike bubble packs, these pouches are part of a long continuous strip that can be easily torn into individual doses. Each pouch contains one dose of medication and is clearly labeled with information on the patient, medication, dose, and schedule. This packaging method is commonly used in hospital and long-term care settings. We offer this service for individual clients or facilities that require this type of medication packaging service.
Are there additional fees required for strip packaging?
We do not charge additional fees for strip packaging beyond the out of pocket cost of the medication after insurance has been applied.
Is there a service charge for delivery?
No, we do not charge our partnering group homes and facilities for delivery or shipping fees across Alberta. Contact us for more information or exceptions.
