The Market Drugs Medical Story

Market Drugs Medical's history dates back to the early 1900s when Edmonton pharmacy practice emerged. Archibald’s Drugs, a historic Alberta pharmacy was purchased in 1965, by born-and-raised Edmontonian Borys Ferbey and sister Lillian Ewasiuk. Merging with Union Drugs, the new pharmacy’s name was changed to Market Drugs Ltd. as the downtown pharmacy was located across the street from Edmonton’s old City Farmer’s Market on 97th Street. The neighborhood has changed with the construction of Canada Place, the Winspear Center, and the new LRT Valley Line Southeast; however, we are proud to have remained a fixture of the Community for nearly 60 years. In 1981, Pharmacist Borys Ferbey and his wife Gloria Ferbey expanded the business to include an increased medical and surgical supply offering.
